Questions & Answers

How do I get to have lunch with Lauren Holiday?

First register online. When you register you will create a personal fundraising page to track your donations. Every player who raises $250 will be invited, with a parent or guardian, to have lunch with 2 time Olympic gold medalist, nominee for 2013 U.S. Soccer’s female athlete of the year, leading goal scorer in the NWSL and 2013 MVP of the NWSL and hometown girl Lauren Holiday in the New Orleans area.

What charity are we fundraising for?

We are raising money for Louisiana Soccer Association’s TOPSoccer and Soccer Across America programs.

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, age 8-19, who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family.

Soccer Across America is designed to introduce the sport of soccer to youngsters living in communities not yet served by existing clubs and leagues. Focused on making soccer available to lower-income children in underserved communities, Soccer America provides soccer training and administrative guidance to players and organizations who might otherwise not be exposed to the sport. Soccer Across America also helps new programs find the funding and equipment to begin and then to expand their activities.

What is the BEST WAY to fundraise?

The single best way to fundraise is to email your family and friends asking them for donations. We suggest you use the email below that highlights the charities and YOU MAKE THE PERSONAL CONNECTION TO THE EVENT BY GIVING BACK AN HOUR OF YOUR TIME TO THE COMMUNITY FOR EACH $50 RAISED. This email has been effective in getting donations AND in connecting the fundraiser to the charities and the true meaning of fundraising: giving back to those less fortunate. We suggest you try it!

SUBJECT: I can play soccer with 2 time Olympic Gold Medalist Lauren Holiday but I need your help!

As you know, I love soccer. I’m participating in a fundraiser for the charity TOPSoccer and Soccer for Success, and if I raise $250 I get to meet one of my favorite soccer players, 2 time Olympic gold medalist, LAUREN HOLIDAY!!!!!

TOPSoccer is a great non-profit charity because it gives kids with mental or physical disabilities an opportunity to play the AWESOME sport of soccer. TOPSoccer is also a non-profit organization, which means your donation is tax deductible! Soccer for Success helps inner city kids get to play soccer!

As a special incentive, for every $50 I raise, I will volunteer one hour of my time to help a youth soccer organization (for example, I could paint lines on the fields, help a coach with soccer practice, or I could even help the TOPSoccer program in Louisiana).

Donating is really easy. All you have to do is go to the website below and look for the “Donate Now!” box. Enter the amount of money you want to donate and pay with your credit card. Lots of kids are raising money, the top 48 fundraisers get to PLAY SOCCER WITH Lauren but I would like to be in the top ten fundraisers so I can sit at the table and have lunch with Lauren Holiday. And if I’m one of the top two, I even get to sit next to Lauren!!!!!

YES! We suggest you send at least 3 emails to family and friends. People are busy and quite often don’t donate until near the end of fundraising. Make sure you send your fundraising link as soon as you register, a few weeks later and during the final week of fundraising.
